
Prize aplenty for winners
Rosmimah binti Haji Bujang emerged as the grand prize winner of the AIFA Hari Raya Lucky Draw 2022, taking home an AIFA 85″ LED Smart 4K TV and a PEVY wireless microphone. The draw, held at the residence of AIFA Managing Director Andy Lau in Kampong Lambak, saw 38 shortlisted names, including Rosmimah, drawn by Dato Paduka Haji Danial bin Haji Hanafiah. Other winners included Mohamad Izzat Izuddin bin Abdullah Leong, who won an Elba 5 gas cooker burner, and Md Amirol Faizol Rizal bin Haji Ahmad, who received an Elba Built-in Coffee Machine and Warner Drawer.

Hari Raya promo: 38 shortlisted from 45,000
Thirty-eight finalists were selected from 45,000 entries for the AIFA Hari Raya lucky draw 2022 during an event at the residence of AIFA Managing Director Dr. Andy Lau in Lambak. Dato Paduka Haji Danial bin Haji Hanafiah drew the names of the winners, with participating dealers present to witness the draw and receive gifts for their support. The winners will pick their prizes at an upcoming ceremony. Dr. Lau also showcased AIFA’s latest products to local dealers. The campaign ran from March 28 to July 3.

Association swears in new leadership
The Fuzhou Shiyyi Association in Brunei Darussalam celebrated the inauguration of its new president, Dr. Andy Lau Sie Chuong, alongside the new executive committee at a ceremony graced by distinguished guests including Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof. Founding president Jackson Ting highlighted the association's journey of hard work and sacrifice over the past 11 years. The new leadership, comprising Jeff Yong Teck Chin as deputy president, and vice presidents Wong Nan Luk, Raymond Ting Sii Kiong, Ngu Howe Ing, and Vincent Pao, pledged to uphold the association’s objectives of fostering business cooperation and friendship.

Association elects new committee members
Dr. Andy Lau Sie Chuong assumes the mantle of leadership as the newly elected President of the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam, following a decisive vote during the association’s 2023 annual general meeting. Amidst the presence of 81 esteemed members, the association also appointed Jeff Yong Teck Chin as Deputy President and welcomed Wong Nan Luk, Raymond Ting Sii Kiong, Ngu Howe Ing, and Vincent Pao as Vice Presidents. Luke Lau and Jessica Lee retained their positions as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively. Dr. Lau expressed gratitude to founding president Jackson Ting for his decade-long service and pledged to maintain unity within the association while championing initiatives such as an education fund for underprivileged students. With commendable financial health, the association looks forward to a prosperous future under Dr. Lau's stewardship.

Bringing back the tradition
The vibrant tradition of the lion dance, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune, adorned the festivities at AIFA Sdn Bhd's headquarters in the Lambak Kanan Industrial Area. Led by AIFA Managing Director Dr. Andy Lau and his family, the event marked the second day of Chinese New Year celebrations. AIFA welcomed 30 talented members of the lion dance troupe from Chung Hwa Middle School, who mesmerized spectators with their energetic performance, accompanied by rhythmic drumbeats and resonating gongs. Despite a temporary pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this cherished tradition has returned this year, signaling a hopeful return to normalcy.

DANA receives over BND75K in donation
The Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA) was the focal point of a generous donation ceremony at the multipurpose hall of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex. Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the chairman of DANA's Board of Trustees, graciously accepted contributions totaling BND75,381 from three benevolent donors. Notably, the Fuzhou Shiyyi Association of Brunei Darussalam led the philanthropic efforts with a substantial contribution of BND72,751. The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed representatives from Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College and the Sultan’s Scholar Alumni, reaffirming the community's commitment to supporting orphans.
